3 Tips to Connect Your Mind, Body & Spirit

We are so much more than just our thoughts. Our identity is made up of all facets of our being: this includes our mind, our body and our spirit.

When we are able to align our entire being, we learn so much more about ourselves and the way in which we show up in this world.

Learning to become more conscious is also a powerful tool against anxiety. By learning to listen to our intuition, we learn to be guided by the sensations of our body and make choices based on what we feel and desire...rather than what we 'think is right'.

So, how do we learn to listen to our intuition and not just be driven by our thoughts and reactions to everything outside of us?

Practice Conscious Breathing

Did you know that we breathe approximately 23,000 each day?

Ironically, we are aware of barely any of them. We can use the power of our breath to support regulating the nervous system. Have you ever heard the theory of breathing into a paper bag when you are feeling anxious or in a state of panic?

An easy and powerful tool to connect you back into your body and your breathing is to place one hand on your belly, and the other on your chest.

Take a 4 count inhale from your belly to your chest and a 4 count exhale from your chest to your belly.

The hands are a good, tactical reminder of your start and end point.

Do 4-5 rounds of this and notice how you not only feel calmer and revitalised, but how more connected you feel with your body.

Be More Mindful

Mindfulness is definitely a HUB word of late, and many of you are probably asking: ‘What even is it?’.

Being more mindful involves being aware of your thoughts, feelings, actions and choices. Being present and aware of the way that you DO life.

Try incorporating a little more awareness and presence into your day today.

Can you ‘mindfully’ eat your lunch? Or ‘mindfully’ have a conversation with your mate?

Building awareness allows you to SEE so much more, and then make more informed choices to serve you and your wellbeing.

Be Grateful

We are all taught from way back when to say our ‘please’ and 'thank you’s’, but practicing gratitude – real gratitude, is so much more powerful that we have ever realised.

Energy goes where energy flows.

Can you sit, with a pen and paper...or your phone….and just think about the wonderful things in your life, in your world, about yourself, that you are truly grateful for?

List them all and literally say “Thank You”, out loud. Feel the feeling of appreciation.

Let the list continue to grow and grow, and acknowledge all of the small yet magical things we often take for granted.

Research shows that being grateful increases our happiness and gives us a greater sense of wellbeing, and when we are in a vibration of gratitude, it is IMPOSSIBLE to be in judgement.

How cool is that?
